Tragic Bus Accident in Bara Claims Seven Lives

Bara: A devastating bus accident near the Churiyamai temple in Jitpur Simara sub-metropolis-22, Bara, during the early hours of today has led to a grim death toll of seven individuals.

Bara District Police's spokesperson, Dadhiram Neupane, provided information regarding the tragic incident, revealing that three individuals lost their lives at the accident scene, while four others succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment. The accident involved a bus with license plate Madhesh Province 3001 Kha 7994, which was en route from Kathmandu to Janakpur.

Among the victims, three have been identified. They are Bijay Lal Pundit, 41, from Loharpatti in Mahottari; Bahadur Singh, 67; and Mira Devi Singh, 65, both from Rajasthan, India. The identities of the remaining four victims are yet to be confirmed.

The tragic incident occurred around 2:00 am when the bus veered off the road and plunged approximately 15 meters. The passengers on the ill-fated journey included three Nepali citizens and 14 Indian nationals, who had been visiting the revered Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu. The group was en route to Janakpur.

The survivors, consisting of three Nepali and 14 Indian citizens, sustained injuries in the accident. They are currently receiving medical attention at various healthcare facilities in Hetauda.

As the community mourns the loss of lives in this unfortunate incident, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the accident, aiming to prevent such tragedies in the future.
